Coach Access Consent

UPDATED ยท JUNE 2026

Connecting a coach in TrackYourRecord is optional and controlled by the trainee. This document explains what a connected coach can see, what they can do, and what the trainee controls.

Invitation

You invite a coach by email from inside the app. The coach must accept the invitation and confirm that they are acting as a coach or training professional before access is granted.

Coach access is granted only after the invitation is accepted.

What the coach can see

While the coach connection is active, your connected coach may be able to view:

  • Your training profile and onboarding information.
  • Your workout history, exercises, sets, reps, weights, and workout notes.
  • Your bodyweight logs and progress data.
  • Your PRs, charts, and training recommendations if enabled.
  • Videos you upload for coach review.
  • Notes you attach to videos.
  • Coach feedback history related to your training.

What the coach can do

Your connected coach can:

  • View the training information made available through TrackYourRecord.
  • View active videos you send for review.
  • Submit written feedback on videos.
  • View their own previous feedback.

What the coach cannot do inside TrackYourRecord

Your connected coach cannot:

  • Change your account credentials.
  • Edit your profile.
  • Edit your workouts.
  • Delete your training history.
  • Change your plan.
  • Invite another coach on your behalf.
  • Access your data after coach access is revoked.
  • Delete your videos from TrackYourRecord.

Confidentiality and outside use

Coaches are expected to use trainee data only for coaching the trainee who invited them.

A coach must not copy, publish, distribute, or share trainee videos, notes, training data, or personal information outside TrackYourRecord without the trainee's permission.

However, TrackYourRecord cannot technically control what a coach may remember, write down, screenshot, screen-record, or save outside the Service after they have viewed it. You should invite only a coach you trust.

Revoking access

You can revoke a coach's access at any time from the Coach Access screen.

After access is revoked, the coach should no longer be able to view your current training data or videos through TrackYourRecord, subject to normal technical processing time.

Revoking access does not automatically delete your videos. Video deletion follows the Video Deletion Policy.

One active coach

During the MVP phase, each trainee can have one active coach at a time.

To switch coaches, revoke the current coach connection first, then invite a new coach.

Video review

Videos are temporary review assets. They are intended only for reviewing a specific lift and receiving coach feedback.

A coach can view active videos only while coach access is active and only through TrackYourRecord's protected playback system.

Videos are deleted according to the Video Deletion Policy.

Coach responsibility

When accepting an invitation, a coach confirms that they understand they are being invited to access the trainee's training data for coaching purposes.

TrackYourRecord does not verify coach credentials, supervise coach feedback, endorse coach feedback, or guarantee the coach's qualifications, conduct, or advice.

Your responsibility

You choose which coach to invite. You are responsible for deciding whether to follow any coach feedback you receive.

If you no longer want a coach to access your data, revoke access from inside TrackYourRecord.
